So let's try to keep this civil and from a technical and experience point of view. I do worry though that the stigma associated with Goodman will not help the resale value of my home, on the other hand, nobody I talk to has heard of Payne either, but I did read it's Carrier's older designs. (I have a good installer) I have read and do NOT believe that Goodman is junk and only for low income people. I have read and believe it's more important that it's installed correctly. (I'm a little puzzled why their 92% is variable speed and the 95% is not) and Payne's PA4A 14 SEER AC. I am considering Goodman's 2.5 Ton 15 Seer 95% Efficient 70,000 BTU Variable Speed Gas Furnace Air Conditioner System or Payne's PG9MTAV 92%. I am not a DYI except I am doing my own brand research. I searched the forum for similar threads but they usually become flame wars. Our 20th year anniversary is May 21, 2020.
